Civil Engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering, whose legacy is present throughout the history of the world. The modern civilization has its roots in Civil Engineering. The world is in a desperate need for the Civil Engineers; in particular, India needs almost 10 lakh Civil Engineers to continue its projects. With the aim to stand on par with the present Engineering trends, the Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2009 with an intake of 60students in Under Graduate Course. Since its inception, there was never a turn back and in the year 2013 Post Graduate program-M. Tech in Structural Engineering was started with an intake of 24 students.

Faculty regularly participate, organize and conduct many Faculty Development Programs and also publish their work in reputed Journals National & International. Students have regular Industrial and institutional visits to provide them with practical knowledge. Video lectures, special guest lectures and interactive e- classrooms are a part of the regular curriculum. Students of the department are encouraged to work with many organizations like Lions Club, Rotract where they can improve their personalities by indulging in team works.

Department Vision

To impart knowledge and excellence in the field of Civil Engineering of world-class competency and make ethically strong engineers.

Department Mission

To make the Department a Centre of Excellence in the field of Civil Engineering through innovation and quality education.

Our Missions

Inspire the leaders of tomorrow to take on the challenge of creating and sustaining the built environment that underpins our society. Enable these leaders with fundamental engineering knowledge, a broad set of skills, and an inquisitive attitude. In partnership with the many disciplines that make up the civil engineering field, and in the face of uncertain information, as well as ever-changing needs, risks, and constraints – create engineers who successfully adapt and innovate solutions for the built environment.

Provide knowledge and tools that enable civil engineering to evolve away from empirical ad hoc approaches into strategies based on scientifically grounded analysis, using fundamental mechanics, integrating uncertainty, and navigating the conflicting objectives inherent in successful civil engineering design.

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarks grove right at the coast.

To promote innovative and sustainable thinking in the minds of budding Engineers to face the challenges of future and enable lifelong learning.

To inculcate knowledge based Civil Engineering education and empower them with necessary skills and values required for higher education, research and industry for their comprehensive acceptance at global level.

To produce Civil Engineers of good caliber, technical skills and ethical values to serve society and nation.

Programmed Educational Objectives (PEOs)

Graduates of Civil Engineering Department will be able to

Sustain intellectual curiosity and pursue lifelong learning not only in areas that are relevant to Civil engineering, but also that are important to society at various levels.

Achieve broad and in-depth knowledge of Civil Engineering relating to industrial practices and research to analyze the practical problems and think creatively to generate innovative solutions using appropriate technologies.

Programmed Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

Graduates of Civil Engineering Department will be able to

Design Civil Engineering Systems or processes to meet technological needs of the society.

Use State of Art Laboratories and modern computer based tools to pursue a diverse range of career as engineers and researchers who work individually and in team as well.

Program Outcomes (POs)

Engineering Graduates will be able to:

Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.
