The Examination Branch of Global Institute of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous) is a vital administrative unit entrusted with the responsibility of planning, organizing, and executing all examination and evaluation processes of the institution. As an autonomous institution, GIET has the academic flexibility to design its own curriculum and evaluation system, and the Examination Branch plays a central role in implementing these with utmost precision and integrity.
The branch ensures the smooth and systematic conduct of Continuous Internal Evaluations (CIE), Semester End Examinations (SEE), and Supplementary Examinations in accordance with the academic regulations framed by the institution. It upholds the highest standards of confidentiality, transparency, and fairness throughout the examination process.
With a strong emphasis on accuracy and timeliness, the Examination Branch is responsible for result processing and publication, enabling students to track their academic progress effectively. It also provides essential services such as the issuance of hall tickets, grade cards, transcripts, provisional certificates, and verification of academic credentials.
Leveraging modern technology and digital practices, the branch continuously strives to enhance efficiency, minimize errors, and ensure seamless examination management. It functions under the leadership of the Controller of Examinations (CoE) and works in close coordination with all academic departments and administrative units.
The Examination Branch remains committed to supporting the institution’s mission of academic excellence by maintaining a robust, reliable, and student-centric evaluation system.

The Evaluation process (Internal and External Examinations) at Global Institute of Engineering and Technology (Autonomous) will be same as the process followed by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. The procedure is as follows (B.Tech/M.Tech/MBA).
Question Paper: From the panel of Examiners given by the Chairman Board of Studies and the Controller of Examinations (A panel consisting of minimum 7 Examiners), Honorable Principal, Global Institute of Engineering and Technology will select any two Examiners and a request email will be sent to both the Examiners with a request to send the question paper with a password protected file. The question paper will be sent to the email id of the Controller of Examinations, GIET (A) and a dedicated email id is made to receive password of the question paper which will be in the custody of the Principal, GIET (A).
Selection of Question Paper: Of the two question papers received, on the day of the Examination, the CoE, GIET (A) will select any one Question Paper and the Principal, GIET (A) shall share the password of the selected question paper and the paper will be decrypted. The left-over set will be utilized for Supplementary Examination.
Moderation of Question Paper: On the day of Examination, 3 Hours before the commencement of the Examination, the question paper will be moderated either by the Chairman BoS or any senior faculty member who is expert in the subject whose paper is to be moderated. The Moderator shall check the grammatical/spelling mistakes if any and confirm the availability of complete data or numericals for problems asked in the question paper. The moderation report shall be filled by the moderator confirming the correct data and no grammatical/spelling mistakes.
Evaluation: From the panel of Examiners given by the Chairman Board of Studies and the Controller of Examinations (A panel consisting of minimum 7 Examiners), Honorable Principal, Global Institute of Engineering and Technology will select the Examiner (External) with ratio of Examiner and Answer Scripts as 1:120.
There will be One Evaluation with a Revaluation
After the evaluator completes the Evaluation, the bundle is sent for scrutiny and if there are scrutiny corrections if any, the evaluator shall rectify and finalize the bundle.
The finalized bundle is sent to Chief Examiner (Internal). The Chief shall evaluate a minimum of 20% of Scripts (random) in a bundle.
The Marks awarded by the Chief and the Evaluator will be compared. If the variation of marks in a bundle between the Evaluator and Chief is more than 15% of the total marks (60) for more than 50% of Scripts evaluated by Chief Examiner, then that complete bundle shall be sent for another Evaluation followed by scrutiny and Chief.
The moderation of marks or the adjustment will be as per JNTUH rule in force.
The revaluation process is same as followed by the university. There shall be a change of 15% marks of total marks between the first evaluation and the second evaluation only then the marks shall be changed else it remains as No change.
